The race for eighth concludes today.

Thursday is the final day of seeding games as part of the NBA’s season restart in Orlando, Florida. The Portland Trail Blazers (34-39) currently have a 0.5 game lead on a trio of teams behind them: the Memphis Grizzlies (33-39), Phoenix Suns (33-39) and San Antonio Spurs (32-38). All four playoff hopefuls are in action today. Here’s the schedule:

  • 1 p.m. PT: Grizzlies vs. Bucks (League Pass)
  • 1 p.m. PT: Suns vs. Mavericks (TNT)
  • 3:30 p.m. PT: Spurs vs. Jazz (TNT)
  • 6 p.m. PT: Blazers vs. Nets (TNT, NBC Sports Northwest)

Here are the scenarios that could play out on Thursday, per the NBA:

However Thursday’s games end, there will be at least one play-in game between the eighth and ninth seeds on Saturday, Aug. 15 at 11:30 a.m. PT on ABC. If the ninth seed wins the first game, a second, win-or-go-home matchup will be held the next day at 1:30 p.m. PT on ESPN.
