On Friday, the Heat became the third NBA team to close their practice facility due to positive coronavirus tests. According to AP writer Tim Reynolds, a second players on Miami’s squad tested positive, prompting the closure.

Reynolds went on to detail the process that the Heat will undertake prior to the Orlando-based restart.

The Heat will have players at the arena over the coming days to satisfy their NBA-mandated testing requirements but will not reopen the gym for individual workouts before leaving for the Disney complex near Orlando on Wednesday, said the person who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because no details were announced.

Earlier in the week, the Nuggets and the Clippers also closed their facilities after a string of positive coronavirus tests.

The Heat enter the bubble with a 41-24 record, good for the fourth seed in the current Eastern Conference postseason picture.
