It took an extra period, but the Portland Trail Blazers earned an important win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday by a score of 140-135. The two teams traded buckets in the final minutes of regulation before Portland took command in overtime. CJ McCollum led the Blazers with 33 points in 46 minutes.
The Beast Is Back. Jusuf Nurkic put up 18 points, 9 rebounds, 6 blocks, 5 assists and 2 steals in his first official game back. He also did this:

Whistles Galore. The refs were not afraid to use their whistles in Friday’s game, with both teams combining for 84 free throws. Jusuf Nurkic and Zach Collins both fouled out as well. Foul trouble will be something to watch for the Blazers going forward.
Eyes on the Eighth Seed. Portland now trails Memphis by 2.5 games for the eighth seed and earns some room to work with if they hope to trigger a play-in tournament as the ninth seed.
Portland next hits the floor on Sunday against the Celtics.
