Portland Trail Blazers forward Carmelo Anthony has teamed up with Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade to launch the Social Change Fund, which will focus on “investing in and supporting organizations that advocate for communities of color through long-term policy solutions, community representation, and narrative change,” according to a press release. Anthony further discussed the ways the fund hopes to create change:
“We established the Social Change Fund to invest in and support organizations working to champion criminal justice reform, enact policy solutions, and advocate for the human rights of all Black lives now and for generations to come. I stand for everything this Fund and its beneficiaries support and will not stop pushing for progress until we see an end to the systemic racism that the Black community has faced for too long. We will keep on pushing. We will not lose focus.”
Proud to be launching @socialchangefnd with my brothers @cp3 @dwyanewade. Together we'll be investing in and supporting grassroot organizations who are working to affect for social change day in and day out. The star trio will initially fund the initiative and hopes their involvement can “raise awareness, increase donations, and drive greater impact.” You can find more information on the fund’s website.
