Portland Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons came into the 2019-20 season poised for a larger role, and early-season hype labeled him as a possible breakout player to watch. Simons has enjoyed increased playing time and upped his per game scoring as a sophomore, but he’s looking to improve even further in Orlando, he told Portland media in an interview on Tuesday:
“I think I’m in pretty good shape. I think we did a good job with individual workouts to get our conditioning up. And obviously the first couple practices helped out a lot to get our conditioning up [as well]. I’m taking this as a good opportunity to get better. Coming into practice, compete against Dame and CJ, challenge them and help them challenge me as well. Coming in, [I’m] trying to work on different aspects of my game that will help the team win in different situations.”
