The 2019-20 season was plagued by injuries for the Portland Trail Blazers. On December 7, during the first quarter of a game against the Los Angeles Lakers, Rodney Hood went up for a rebound and came down badly. He was helped off the court with what appeared to be a left ankle injury. He did not return to the game. It was later reported that he had suffered a torn left Achilles tendon, a season ending injury.
On Thursday evening, the Trail Blazers posted a tweet with a video from Hood’s own instagram page. Hood appeared in the gym, shooting several baskets in a row with the caption “Back in the kitchen”.
In the video, Hood is shown moving laterally and pushing off on his left leg. Seeing that kind of movement after an Achilles injury is encouraging. While Hood probably won’t be back to playing this season, he seems to be well on his way to recovery.
