On April 23, 2019, Damian Lillard’s buzzer-beater in Game 5 of the NBA Playoffs lifted the Portland Trail Blazers over the Oklahoma City Thunder. The shot capped a contentious series that featured plenty of trash talk. Lillard famously said after Game 5 that all he wanted was “the last word” following the Thunder’s mind games during the series, like mocking his wrist tap celebration and dunking at the end of Game 3 when the contest was already decided.
