The Washington Wizards weren’t a match for the Damian Lillard-led Portland Trail Blazers. Portland beat their second-straight fringe East playoff team, 125-104, and kept pace in the race for the 8th seed in the West.
Welcome back, Damian. Lillard looked a little rusty, but settled in over time. But good news, his teammates took care of business for him. The whole starting lineup scored in double figures, and four scored 20 or more, but one player stood out.
Good night for Carmelo. Anthony opened the game hot, taking control for the Blazers early. His hot shooting and ability to get to the line kept the game well in hand, even without Lillard’s best. He may have played his best offensive game of the season. Of course, their opponent helped a bit...
The Wiz are really bad, aren’t they? It’s amazing that they’re only four games back of the East 8th seed Orlando— oh, never mind. We just saw the Magic recently, too. That makes more sense now.
This recap was finished at halftime. This game was never really in doubt.
The Blazers have a night off, while they head to Phoenix to take on the Suns.
[Note: The final score originally seemed to be 125-105, and was reflected in this recap. It was changed to 125-104 after the buzzer]
