Portland Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum intends to focus on off-court pursuits during the suspension of NBA action due to the COVID-19 “coronavirus”. With the season on hold for at least 30 days, McCollum is working on business pursuits. He shared his outlook during an interview with Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.
I am taking this time to sit back in my office, make my calls, really work on my real estate plans and some of the business plans that I have, some funds I am investing in and work on my podcast.
McCollum, a vice president for the National Basketball Players Association, says he has no idea yet how the union will respond to the crisis.
This is something that has never happened before. … It’s just uncharted territories and I have no answers for you other than we are constantly working and I’ve been on the phone for hours.
He also offers a cautiously optimistic take on resuming the 2019-20 season:
I think it will [resume], but health and safety is and should be our main priority going forward.
Spears’ article has much more about McCollum’s particular interests and outlook.
