Blazer’s Edge Oscars: Best Single-Game Performance

Blazer’s Edge is getting in the Oscar mood with a set of Blazers-themed awards.

Before the Oscar festivities get underway Sunday evening, Blazer’s Edge is asking its readers to participate in a list of Blazers-themed awards. Each category will include three nominees and a brief list of accolades.

Trail Blazers Best Single Game Performance

This award recognizes a the Blazers player who dominated for a 48-minute stretch.

The Nominees:

Damian Lillard | 61 points vs. Golden State Warriors

Lillard broke his own previous franchise record of 60 with his performance over the Warriors. He also became the first NBA player with over 60 points and over 10 three pointers in a game.

Damian Lillard | Triple-double vs. Houston Rockets

Yes, Lillard gets another spot for his first career triple-double against the Houston Rockets. He had 36 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds, leading the Blazers to a convincing win over the Rockets.

Damian Lillard | 48 points, near triple-double vs. Los Angeles Lakers

Let’s agree that Damian Lillard deserves to take this category. His near-triple double over the Lakers was a clear illustration of Mamba Mentality, as the Blazers faced the Lakers in the first game since Kobe Bryant’s death. He hit seven three-pointers along with 10 rebounds and nine assists, lifting the Blazers over the Lakers.
