Former Trail Blazers forward Maurice Harkless is content with sticking with the Knicks following a trade at the deadline that shipped him from Los Angeles to New York. On Friday, Harkless told reporters that we was not seeking a buyout.

SNY’s Colin Martin highlighted Harkless’ comments on the subject.

“I’m not thinking about any buyout,” Harkless told reporters on Friday. “I’m thinking about today, and that’s just making the most of where I am now. That’s it... I’ll be here for the rest of the year.”

Harkless, a New York native, revealed that he has always had a soft spot for the Knicks.

“I’m just taking it day by day,” Harkless said at Knicks practice. “I’ve always loved the Knicks, so it’s pretty cool to play here. I just have to wait and see what happens.”

Prior to the 2019-20 season, Harkless appeared in 274 regular season games for the Blazers over four seasons in Portland. Outside of the regular season, he was featured as a starter in 32 postseason games with the Blazers. The 26-year-old forward is set to enter the summer as an unrestricted free agent.
