Damian Lillard suddenly left the court during the second half of Portland’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies with a possible injury. He immediately went to the locker room. Coach Stotts said after the game that it was a groin strain, and that Lillard will get an MRI tomorrow. Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes reports that it is a grade 1-2 strain.

Lillard says he is not giving up on the season, where Portland is currently in 9th place and 4 games behind 8th-place Memphis, who beat the Blazers tonight. Haynes reports that Lillard did not hear a pop, and hopes to return quickly. He told reporters, “It’s far from over. Believe that.”
This is Portland’s last game before the All-Star Break, and they don’t return to action until Feb 21 against New Orleans. However, Lillard was expected to play a big role in All-Star Weekend, including appearances in the big game, the three-point contest, and as a musical guest during All-Star Saturday Night.
