In a league that has become increasingly positionless, wing players are in high demand across the league for their versatility, and the Portland Trail Blazers’ CJ McCollum has landed at no. 15 in CBS Sports’ Top 15 list of the league’s best wings, according to Jasmyn Wimbish. While LeBron James and Kawhi Leonard top the list, McCollum follows Brandon Ingram at 14. Regarding McCollum, he is praised for his consistency.
The Robin to Damian Lillard’s Batman in the Portland backcourt, McCollum has never quite become a star, but he is a model of consistency. Every single night you know he’s giving you 20-25 points while handling some of the playmaking duties. He can’t carry a team by himself on a consistent basis, but he’s one of the better secondary scoring options around, and is not afraid of the moment in the playoffs.
McCollum has proved himself to be a reliable option for the Trail Blazers, even playing through a spinal injury during the Bubble.
