Unless you were obsessively watching the Portland Trail Blazers’ Instagram stories ahead of their first preseason matchup with the Sacramento Kings, you might have missed an important piece of news: Zach Collins practiced posting up without a defender ahead of the game, including some jump shots.
Zach Collins, who underwent surgery on his left ankle in September, on the court going through a light workout. Half speed, but doing some jumping, looks comfortable. Team hopes he'll be back some time in mid-late January.

Collins suffered a season-ending hairline medial malleolus stress fracture in the Orlando bubble. He missed most of the 2019-20 season due to a shoulder injury that also required surgery.
In sum, keep your eyes on the team’s Instagram stories — you might just catch the big man going through his paces ahead of future matchups.
