Jordan Kent is set to continue in the play-by-play announcer role for the Trail Blazers next season. According to a report from The Oregonian’s Joe Freeman, the former Ducks standout was offered the job by the Blazers prior to the start of the 2020-21 season.
The team has hired Jordan Kent as its new television play-by-play announcer, the Oregonian/OregonLive has learned, replacing a future Hall of Famer with a local broadcaster on the rise.
Kent, who filled in for Kevin Calabro during the Blazers’ run in the Orlando-based bubble, will join Lamar Hurd to form a talented broadcast duo.
Following the story from The Oregonian, Kent spoke with Trail Blazers digital reporter Casey Holdahl about the news.
"Extremely humbled, extremely excited... I’m so grateful that the team and the franchise gave me this opportunity in the bubble and felt that my performance was worthy of holding this role moving forward.” -- @jordanrkent
