Undrafted out of Tennessee State, Covington emerged from the Rockets’ D-League (now the G League) affiliate to carve out a role as a two-way forward. His relentless style has not gone unnoticed, in 2018 he earned NBA All-Defensive First Team honors. Now with the Blazers, it appears that Covington is determined to win over yet another fanbase with his blue-collar work ethic.
Last season, in the regular season, Covington averaged 12.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. In the playoffs, with the Rockets, he started in all 12 of Houston’s outings and averaged 11.2 points per game.
