The Portland Trail Blazers are still hoping to re-sign forward Carmelo Anthony in free agency, despite trading for forward Robert Covington and signing forward Derrick Jones Jr. within the last week.

NBA analyst David Aldridge reports that the Trail Blazers are looking to keep Anthony around with the hope that he will be able to replicate the important role he played last season.

Anthony was a key player for the Blazers last season, averaging 15.4 points and 6.3 rebounds per game over 58 games played.
