As free agency continues to unfold, the Washington Wizards and Houston Rockets are in talks regarding a trade between the two teams, swapping John Wall for Russell Westbrook, according to Shams Charania of the Athletic. However, the main obstacle seems to be that the Rockets desire more in the trade than just Wall.

Westbrook landed with the Rockets last season after being traded by the Oklahoma City Thunder for Chris Paul. There, Westbrook reunited with his former teammate, James Harden. Meanwhile, John Wall has been recovering from a series of injuries that have barred him from playing for an extended period of time. Initially, he injured his left heel and required surgery, ending his 2018-19 season. During recovery, he further ruptured his left Achilles tendon. Wall missed the duration of the 2019-20 season as a result of his injuries.
Stay tuned for more updates on this potential move, including what assets Washington may have to pony up in order to secure the deal.
