Trail Blazers forward Mario Hezonja has signaled that he intends to pick up the 2020-21 option in his current contract. According to HoopsHype contributor Michael Scotto, Hezonja will return to Portland for a second season.

Hezonja signed with the Blazers as a free agent last summer. In the 2019-20 season, the former lottery pick appeared in 53 regular season games (four starts). In those outings, he averaged 4.8 points per game on 42.2 percent shooting from the field. In the playoffs, Hezonja’s first trip to the postseason, he averaged 4.6 points and 13.6 minutes per game.
After picking up his option, Hezonja is set to earn $1.9 million in the 2020-21 season.
