The NBA offseason is right around the corner and Pacers guard Victor Oladipo is already making waves. Following a rumor that the former Hoosiers star wanted out of his current situation, the 28-year-old guard pushed back on that line of thinking during a conversation with Fat Joe on Instagram (yes, we are living in 2020).
In the conversation, that was highlighted by CBS Sports contributor Jack Maloney, Oladipo re-affirmed his commitment to the Pacers.
“I’m a Pacer, man I’m a Pacer, dawg. I’m a Pacer. I can’t control the rumors, man. ... All of the ones on the internet, I don’t even know where they come from. I’m just in the background, working out, working on my knee, trying to get right for next year.”
Last season, Oladipo appeared in 19 regular season games (16 starts) and averaged 14.5 points per game. As the offseason inches closer, potential suitors are tasked with deciding if Oladipo’s recent statements are genuine or narrative control.
