The Portland Trail Blazers have had a relatively quiet offseason so far after being eliminated from the NBA Playoffs by the eventual champion Los Angeles Lakers. Here’s the news from Thursday involving the team:
Blazers confirm their new “City” jersey
After leaking on Wednesday, the Blazers have officially unveiled their new “City” jersey for the 2020-21 season. It’s the first jersey in franchise history to feature the word “Oregon” as the team moniker:
The lead design element is earth tone colors, representing the beautiful landscape of Oregon.

For the first time in team history, “Oregon” is stitched across the chest displaying the pride for our state using the font from the iconic sign. https://t.co/vGvBRBkVw5 pic.twitter.com/lo2BCEl4IP
The jersey is dedicated to both the state’s unique landscape and the tribal nations who have called the area their home. A portion of jersey sales will be donated to the Native American Youth and Family Center, according to the team’s site:
Biofreeze and the Trail Blazers have teamed up to donate a portion of the net proceeds from jersey sales to the Native American Youth and Family Center (NAYA), a Portland-area nonprofit working to enhance the diverse strengths of native youth and families through cultural identity and education.
You can sign up for pre-sale info on the jerseys — which release on Dec. 3 — here.
CJ McCollum Gets Married
In other news, Blazers guard CJ McCollum has tied the knot with his partner. He shared a photo from their special day on Instagram:
Our congratulations go out to McCollum, his wife, and their families.
