The home of the Portland Trail Blazers, the Moda Center, will host the 2024 NCAA Women’s Basketball Regional as well as first- and second-round games of the 2026 men’s tournament, it was announced Wednesday. Sport Oregon, Oregon State University, the Rose Quarter and Travel Portland all played a role in securing the bid.

The 2019 NCAA Women’s Basketball Regional was also held in Portland and scheduled to return in 2020, but the coronavirus pandemic caused the event to be cancelled.

“We are excited for the opportunity to bring the 2024 Women’s Regional and 2026 Men’s First/Second Rounds to Portland,” said Scott Barnes, Director of Intercollegiate Athletics for Oregon State University. “Our department has hosted a number of top-level NCAA Championship competitions over the last several years, and we look forward to working with our terrific partners at Sport Oregon, the Rose Quarter and Travel Portland to continue putting on first-class events. We are eager to embrace another great chance to showcase our state and our university.”

Portland was in contention to host the 2025 or 2026 Women’s Final Four, but Tampa and Phoenix, respectively, were chosen as hosts for those events.
