Game 6 of the NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers is set to unfold later today. LeBron James and Anthony Davis have marched the Lakers through the postseason and to an early-series lead on the biggest stage. Not to be outdone, the scrappy Heat have relied on team-wide contributions that are more often than not led by Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.
With those core four players in mind, today’s poll asks a purely hypothetical question: If you could choose one player from the squads in the current NBA Finals to join the Trail Blazers in a one-time move, who would you choose?
LeBron, a 35-year-old generational talent, appears to still have the firepower necessary to carry a squad to the promised land. Davis, who made it to the NBA Finals in his first season after departing New Orleans, would fit a definite need inside the Blazers’ rotation. For the Heat, Butler and Adebayo offer a defensive edge that Portland currently lacks.
