The Detroit Pistons’ Blake Griffin could end his season early to pursue knee surgery, reports Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. The All-Star forward has struggled this season, averaging 15.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists, much lower than his career numbers.
The six-time All-Star will be evaluated by a specialist in Los Angeles at some point this week, sources said.
Griffin, who has been limited to 18 games this season due to the injury, had surgery on the same knee in the offseason.
Griffin’s name has been floated as a possible trade target for the injury-worn Portland Trail Blazers. In light of this news, that seems unlikelier than ever.
