It’s been quite an eventful week for the Portland Trail Blazers. After the team made waves by acquiring veteran Trevor Ariza over the weekend (finalized on Tuesday), Damian Lillard set a franchise record with 61 points in an overtime victory against the Golden State Warriors on Monday night. Both were major topics in this weeks’s edition of Blazer’s Edge Radio, which aired Tuesday.
Show hosts Ryne Buchanan and Sam Arnold marveled at Lillard’s exploits, while also giving their take on the trade. Both agreed that while the improvements it offers are marginal, the untapped potential of Wenyen Gabriel and possibility of Ariza returning next season still make it intriguing for fans. Along the way, the guys also touched on Gary Trent Jr.’s big birthday performance in Oklahoma City, and questioned whether the Thunder should look to sell before the upcoming deadline.
