The Trail Blazers have agreed to trade Kent Bazemore, Anthony Tolliver and a package of second round picks to the Kings in exchange for Trevor Ariza, Wenyen Gabriel and Caleb Swanigan. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski announced the details of the trade on Saturday.

According to ESPN’s Bobby Marks, the trade cannot officially occur until Tuesday.

Ariza, a 34-year-old veteran, is under contract through the 2020-21 season. Only $1.8 million of his $12.8 million salary in 2020-21 is guaranteed. Ariza has appeared in 32 games this season and is averaging 6.0 points per game in 24.7 minutes.

Swanigan, who played for the Trail Blazers from 2017-2019, appeared in only 10 games for the Kings in 1.5 seasons. He averaged 3.3 minutes in 7 appearances this season. His contract expires at the end of the season.

Gabriel, a 6’9 power forward has played 11 games, averaging 1.7 points in 5.5 minutes. Undrafted out of Kentucky, Gabriel was on a two-way contract with the Kings during the 2018-19 season. Gabriel’s contract became fully guaranteed earlier this month.

Bazemore started 21 games out of 43 for the Blazers, averaging 7.9 points in 25.8 minutes on 34.7% shooting from the field.

Tolliver struggled to start the year but had come on in the last week. He put in 33 appearances, starting 9, averaging 3.9 points and 2.5 rebounds in 16.8 minutes, shooting 33.7% from the arc, his specialty.

Both Bazemore’s and Tolliver’s contracts expire at the end of the year.

According to Yahoo Sports NBA insider Chris Haynes, the Blazers will send out second round picks in the 2024 and 2025 drafts.

Haynes went on to explain that Bazemore’s relationship with Kings coach Luke Walton will prevent a push for a buyout.

ESPN’s Bobby Marks provided information on the trade exceptions that the trade between the Blazers and Kings created.

Prior to the official completion of the trade, the Blazers play the Thunder on Saturday and the Warriors on Monday.
