Amar’e Stoudemire and Monta Ellis are trying to catch on with an NBA contender, according to Jordan Schultz of ESPN (and co-host of the Pull Up Pod with Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum). Schultz tweeted an update from NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. Apparently both NBA veterans will hold a private workout for multiple teams next week.
Amar’e Stoudemire and Monta Ellis will workout privately for at least five NBA teams from 6-7pm — in Las Vegas — on July 8, a source tells ESPN. Both players are healthy and hoping to sign with a contending team, such as the #Lakers.— Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) July 4, 2019
Stoudemire is 36 years old, Ellis 33. Stoudemire last played in the 2015-16 season, Ellis in 2016-17.
