Former Portland Trail Blazers wing Ime Udoka has joined the staff of the Philadelphia 76’ers as lead assistant coach. Udoka has spent the last seven years with Gregg Popovich of the San Antonio Spurs. Udoka replaces another member of the Trail Blazers family, Monty Williams, who took the head coaching position with the Phoenix Suns last month.

Udoka played with the Blazers during the 2006-07 season, starting 75 games in support of rookies LaMarcus Aldridge and Brandon Roy.

News broke yesterday of Trail Blazers assistant David Vanterpool accepting an associate head coaching role with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
