UPDATE: The deal could be in jeopardy over Derrick Jones’ inclusion.

UPDATE: The trade has been extended to include the Dallas Mavericks.

Despite initial rumors that Goran Dragic had been sent to Dallas as part of the deal, it appears the Mavericks will now be acquiring Kelly Olynyk and Derrick Jones from the Heat.

Jimmy Butler will suit up for Miami next season after the Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers came to an agreement on an old-fashioned sign and trade. Butler will sign a max deal with the Heat as young, highly talented wing Josh Richardson heads to Philadelphia. The Heat will also include extra players in the deal to ensure salaries match.

Butler had been linked with a number of teams prior to the opening of free agency, including a return to Philadelphia.

Last season, Butler posted averages of 18.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4 assists. Richardson’s numbers included averages of 16.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists.
