Portland Trail Blazers unrestricted free agent Seth Curry is among a group of players the Los Angeles Lakers may pursue if they don’t land another star, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The Lakers have opened up $32 million in cap space with eyes on a big name like Kawhi Leonard, but they are interested in shooters like Curry to surround LeBron James and Anthony Davis with if those big names don’t come to Los Angeles:
The Lakers are expected to pursue several scenarios in free agency, including Brooklyn Nets point guard D’Angelo Russell -- who is a restricted free agent -- and Toronto Raptors star Kawhi Leonard, league sources said. If the Lakers decide to break up the money, they’re interested in several combinations of players, including Toronto’s Danny Green, Orlando Magic guard Terrence Ross, Portland Trail Blazers guard Seth Curry and several other free agents with strong shooting ability.
Curry averaged 7.9 ppg and 45% 3-point shooting with Portland this season.
