The Portland Trail Blazers have extended the qualifying offer to forward Jake Layman, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Layman is now set to be a restricted free agent; he signed a three-year deal with Portland as a second-round draft pick in 2016.

Layman received his biggest role yet with the Blazers last season, averaging 7.6 points and 3.1 rebounds in 18.7 minutes per game (all career highs).

This move comes one day after the Blazers traded Evan Turner to the Atlanta Hawks for Kent Bazemore.
