Former Trail Blazer Channing Frye chimed in on Twitter to suggest that the Blazers trade for Cleveland Cavaliers forward and Lake Oswego native Kevin Love. He speculated that acquiring Love this offseason could shake up the Western Conference as competing teams like the Utah Jazz and Los Angeles Lakes have already made notable additions in Mike Conley Jr. and Anthony Davis.
I’m gonna be honest i had a conversation with friends and i think the best move for the Blazers would be to get Kevin Love. I think it would shake the whole western conference

Frye and Love were teammates in Cleveland for the last four seasons. Frye also played stints with the Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Lakers in that span before retiring this year. He cohosts the popular Road Trippin’ podcast with former teammate Richard Jefferson.
Love has frequently been mentioned as a trade target for the Blazers, both for his perceived roster fit and his Oregon roots. Love played in only 22 games last season as he dealt with an injured left foot. He averaged 17.0 points and 10.9 rebounds. He has also been one of the most outspoken advocates bringing awareness to the mental health struggles facing many professional athletes.
