Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard took center stage in the latest edition of Kobe Bryant’s Detail on ESPN+.

Buoyed by the play of Damian Lillard, the Trail Blazers are enjoying one of their best postseason runs in nearly two decades. Lillard’s exploits garnered the attention of Lakers legend Kobe Bryant—earning Portland’s leading man his own episode of Detail on ESPN+.

The Lillard-theme episode utilizes the film from the Blazers’ quadruple-overtime victory over the Nuggets on Friday. Lillard notched 28 points and eight assists in the win and trailed only CJ McCollum’s 41-point outburst among Portland scorers.

Episodes of Detail feature a film breakdown of a specific player with Bryant narrating in the background. Bryant touched on the following topics during Lillard’s episode:

  • Bryant pointed to John Stockton when examining an off-ball play that involved Enes Kanter freeing Moe Harkless off a screen. According to Bryant, Lillard could make things easier by utilizing the same tactics that Stockton used to create better passing angles.
  • Lillard’s long-range accuracy isn’t lost on Bryant. The Lakers legend chuckled at a play where Dame got Torrey Craig to bite on two pump fakes from the logo.
  • After complimenting Lillard’s step-back jumper, Bryant took a few moments to recognize how Paul Millsap is making things tough with his rotations on defense.
  • Most episodes end with a tie to a former player. For this edition, Bryant suggests that Lillard should adopt a few moves from vintage Rajon Rondo. Bryant goes on to explain that Celtics-era Rondo was a maestro of pulling opponents into the paint before delivering passes to the perimeter.
