The Trail Blazers revealed the details of Head Coach Terry Stotts’ contract extension on Friday. Stotts will be under contract in Portland through the 2021-22 season according to the details released by the team today.
Upon successful completion of the current agreement, Stotts’ tenure with the Blazers will span 10 seasons. Along with earning a new contract, Stotts received praise from Jody Allen.
“In the face of adversity, Terry did an inspirational job this season leading our team to one of its most thrilling and best finishes ever,” said Jody Allen, Trustee of the Paul G. Allen Trust. “It speaks to his experience, creativity and resolve and I am looking forward to where he can take the team in the years to come.”
Stotts has a 325-249 regular season record as the Blazers’ head coach. Under his guidance this postseason, Portland returned to the Western Conference Finals after nearly a two-decade long absence.
