Portland Trail Blazers assistant David Vanterpool will interview with the Minnesota Timberwolves for their head-coaching vacancy, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Minnesota’s president of basketball operations will connect with Vanterpool “later in the week” due to Portland’s WCF series, per Wojnarowski.
Vanterpool interviewed with both the Phoenix Suns and Cleveland Cavaliers for their head-coaching positions, but both teams have filled those vacancies since then.
Wojnarowski says that Minnesota’s interim coach, Ryan Saunders, remains a top candidate for the Wolves job.
