CJ McCollum hinted that his injury recovery from a popliteus strain suffered in the Trail Blazers’ loss to the Spurs on March 16 is progressing nicely. Prior to Wednesday’s contest against Memphis, McCollum shared that he is feeling good about the rehabilitation process. Along with his positive remarks, it was revealed that the former Lehigh standout participated in 3-on-3 drills in the Blazers’ practice.
The Oregonian’s Joe Freeman provided the update before the action got underway at the Moda Center.
CJ McCollum participated in a 3-on-3 workout today, the latest step in his rehab from a left knee strain. “I feel good,” he said, smirking. He wouldn’t say when he plans to return, but that things are progressing well. He’ll travel with the Blazers to Denver for Friday’s game.

An official date for McCollum’s return has not been set, but he is traveling with the team to Denver for Friday’s clash between Northwest Division rivals.
Along with the news from Freeman, the Trail Blazers provided a video of McCollum going through shooting drills.

The Blazers have secured victories in seven of their eight contests without McCollum in the lineup. On the season, McCollum is averaging 21.3 points and 2.9 assists per game. After tonight, Portland will complete its four-game regular season schedule before moving on to the postseason.
