The dust has settled after Damian Lillard’s heroic 37-foot shot that sent the Trail Blazers past the Thunder to the second round of the NBA Playoffs. The hotly contested five-game series featured plenty of trash talk and eventually finished with Lillard waving OKC off the court to close the series.
On Friday, Lillard joined the Dan Patrick Show to clear the air on his burgeoning rivalry with Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook.
In the clip, Lillard touched on the following subjects:
- He explained that the talk between both sides was heated, but that animosity is reserved for the action on the court. Lillard explained that he is “cool” with Westbrook off the court.
- From Dennis Schroder’s wrist tap to Westbrook “rocking the baby”—Lillard noticed every outburst from OKC.
- Lillard admitted that his waving send off to the Thunder felt like a huge relief.
Once the series between the Spurs and Nuggets concludes the Blazers will return to action.
