Dennis Schroder spent most of the Oklahoma City Thunder’s five-game series with the Portland Trail Blazers glued to Damian Lillard, trying his best to quell any impact Portland’s captain might have on the result. Schroder took things one step further in the final stages of the Thunder’s Game 3 win, when he seemingly tapped his wrist to mock Lillard’s “Dame Time” gesture.
But after Lillard’s mind-boggling Game 5 shot, Schroder spoke about the “insane” series from Portland’s franchise star.
“Damian, now I can say it, he’s insane what he did this series. We’ve got to give him credit. He worked all summer and it’s amazing what he did.”
Schroder also talked about the difference in this Blazers team as opposed to past years.
“They figured it out, them two, CJ and Damian. The last couple of years they didn’t figure it out, but this year, trusting everyone and letting the game come to them: that’s the reason why they won.”
