The feisty matchup between the 3-seed Portland Trail Blazers and 6-seed Oklahoma City Thunder was outlined from the start as one of the series to watch. So far, it has not disappointed, with a closing second victory by Portland in Game 1 and an intense bout between the teams in Game 2.
As Joseph Rejent of TV By The Numbers details, Game 2 led TV ratings on Tuesday:
The champion this week was the NBA, with a playoff game between the Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Portland Trail Blazers racking up a 1.1 rating in adults 18-49. This was a significant improvement on last week’s top game, in which the Thunder played the Houston Rockets for 0.6. TNT and the NBA also claimed second place when the Orlando Magic was defeated by the Toronto Raptors to grab a 0.9. USA’s “Smackdown” was relegated to the third slot with a 0.7, down from last week’s 0.8.
Game 2 didn’t just surpass other playoff games/sports, but “House Hunters,” “Deadliest Catch,” and “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” among others. You can find all of Tuesday’s ratings here.
