Portland Trail Blazers center Enes Kanter became close friends with Oklahoma City Thunder big man Steven Adams during Kanter’s time in OKC. They even came to be known as the “‘Stache Brothers.” But now a playoff series between the two players’ teams is putting strain on one of the NBA’s best friendships.
Prior to Game 1, Kanter relayed a story of Adams giving him the cold shoulder (via Erik Gundersen):
Enes Kanter says that he tried to say what's up to Steven Adams before the game and Adams didn't even look at him.

Kanter said he understood, though:
Kanter went on to say that it was then he understood how focused Adams was. Admits he was nervous playing against him on this big of a stage.

But Adams doubled down on his blinders to his once-brother in facial hair prior to Game 2 (via Erik Horne):

Perhaps the two playing against each other in OKC on Friday, where this connection was first grown, will spark their friendship once again.
