The Portland Trail Blazers will select 25th in the 2019 NBA Draft, courtesy of a tie-breaking draw at the NBA Board of Governors meeting today. The Blazers tied the Houston Rockets with a 53-29 record during the 2018-19 regular season. Portland won the drawing and the right to select just ahead of Houston on June 20th.
Several other ties were broken as well, including a three-way lottery mess between the Pelicans, Grizzlies, and Mavericks at picks 7-9. New Orleans earns ping-pong balls for the 7th position, Memphis for the 8th, and Dallas 9th.
Here’s video of the drawings from the NBA.
