Damian Lillard appeared on ESPN’s The Jump Friday afternoon to discuss why he is one of the best players in the NBA. In speaking with Tracy McGrady about his earlier statement regarding his status as one of the top players in the league, Lillard explained how the quote in Shaun Powell’s piece was taken out of context.

It made it seem like it was a cry-out, and it wasn’t. Before we played the Clippers last week in L.A., the guy asked me, he said dame what do you have to say to people who might be offended or feel a way about you when you mention yourself with the best players in the league? And I was like, what you mean? I’m one of the best players in the league. That’s facts.

Lillard also delineated the goals for the Portland Trail Blazers down the stretch, especially as they head toward the playoffs, recounting past experience in the post-season. On the lighter side, Lillard expressed his excitement for the addition of Antonio Brown to the Oakland Raiders.

Additionally, Lillard mentioned how much he likes the Logo Lillard moniker, a reminder that the best players in the league can and do have multiple nicknames.
