In the latest NBA MVP Ladder from NBA.com, All-Star Damian Lillard ranks eighth behind James Harden, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Stephen Curry, Joel Embiid, Paul George, Nikola Jokic, and Kevin Durant. Kawhi Leonard and Kyrie Irving round out the top ten. Lillard is currently averaging 26.6 points per game, 6.7 assists, with a 37.7% three point percentage and 45.3% field goal percentage over the season so far.

Last year, Lillard was named All-NBA First Team with averages of 26.9 points per game, 6.6 assists, a 36% 3-point percentage, and a field goal percentage of 44%. He has improved his efficiency over last year’s performance given his minutes, and his inclusion in the MVP conversation is well-deserved.
