The Trail Blazers’ move to acquire forward Rodney Hood will send guard Nik Stauskas to his fifth team since being selected in the first round of the 2014 NBA Draft. Arriving in Portland after a brief stint with the Brooklyn Nets, Stauskas appeared to be the floor-spacing perimeter player that coach Terry Stotts coveted. Unfortunately, Stauskas’ hot start cooled as the season progressed.
On Sunday, Stauskas received word of the trade at the Blazers’ practice facility. Nick Krupke of KPTV captured Stauskas delivering goodbyes to his teammates.

Stauskas appeared in 44 games for the Blazers this season. Prior to the trade, he was averaging 6.1 points per game while shooting 34.4 percent on his three-point attempts. In a 128-119 victory over the Lakers, Stauskas spoiled LeBron James’ regular season debut by dropping 24 points off the bench.
