Each week, Team Mom highlights her favorites plays, players and other things that made the Trail Blazers fun to watch. Who is Mom’s Favorite this week? Did anyone get put in the dog house? What were your favorite things this week? Let us know in the comments below.
Week 16: Jan 27- Feb 2. Utah Jazz (W)
Mom’s Favorite: Meyers Leonard
Kudos to Meyers Leonard who played admirably in the Trail Blazers only game this week, a 132-105 rout of the Utah Jazz. With Jusuf Nurkic nursing a sore knee, Leonard earned his first start since December 11, 2017. He finished with 16 points, six rebounds and four assists.
While Rudy Gobert still scored his season average 15 points on 7-9 shooting, he only made it to the line twice and collected nine rebounds--well below his season average of six free throw attempts and 12.8 rebounds per game.
Meyers had an extremely efficient night offensively, hitting 6-7 from the field, including 4 of 5 3-pointers. This efficiency resulted in a gaudy eFG% of 1.143 and a ridiculous offensive rating of 225. He helped others score as well. His passing was on point leading to four assists, and his six screen assists lead to 14 points. He cleared space and operated in sync with CJ McCollum all night long. Keep an eye on Leonard in these McCollum highlights.
The highlight of the week, though, was this vicious dunk. Meyers started at the top of the arc, had Donovan Mitchell diving, a disgusted Rudy Gobert closing out, and nothing but daylight between the Hammer and the hoop. Great night, big fella!
Gold Star: Zach Collins’ big Block
Zach Collins was robbed of a block, but Rip City was rewarded with this magnificent shot by Blazers photographer Bruce Ely.

Honorable Mention: time off—with puppies!
With only one game this week, let’s check in on how the guys spent their time off.
Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum hung out with former Trail Blazer and Hall-of-Famer Scottie Pippen.

Damian got some quality daddy time with Dame Jr.
Jusuf Nurkic enjoyed some gym time with rock stars Portugal. The man.
Meyers and his wife appear to be headed for some R&R.
Al-Farouq Aminu helped his wife Helina host a pop-up art show.
Brace yourself for a whole lot of cuteness. Nurkic, Zach Collins, Jake Layman and Seth Curry spent time with kids and families and Piles of Puppies at the Ronald McDonald House.

Have a good week, everyone! Get some rest, we’ve got the home stretch coming up, and the Blazers are going to need all our good thoughts behind them to finish the season strong.
