Before the Oscar festivities get underway Sunday evening, Blazer’s Edge is asking its readers to participate in list of Blazers-themed awards. Each category will include three nominees and a brief list of accolades.

Trail Blazers Outstanding Supporting Player

This award goes to the Blazers player that has done the most to support the team. These players aren’t the first ones fans think of, but they are the glue guys the team relies on to secure the win.

The Nominees

Al-Farouq Aminu | PTS: 9.5 | REB: 7.9 | AST 1.3

Al-Farouq Aminu is an obvious contender for Outstanding Supporting Player. Chief does a lot of things well, handing in quiet but strong performances night in and night out.

Evan Turner | PTS: 7.4 | REB: 4.6 | AST: 3.9

Evan Turner has come into his own this season, functioning as the team’s point forward in the second unit. With his court vision, he enables his teammates to play well.

Moe Harkless | PTS 6.3 | REB 3.9 | STL: .9

Despite some setbacks, Moe Harkless has had some good games recently: in the last two games, he averaged 13 points, 6.5 rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block.
