Mavericks’ Luka Doncic Claims it is ‘Easier to Score’ in the NBA

The Trail Blazers will have to find a way to contain Luka Doncic when they face the Mavericks on Sunday.

The Trail Blazers will face talented rookie sensation Luka Doncic once again on Sunday. In two matchups against the Blazers this season, Doncic has averaged an impressive 22 points in those contests. In his last trip to Portland, Doncic forced overtime by connecting on a superb buzzer beater. Due to his penchant for creating offense, the Slovenia native is the clear favorite to capture NBA Rookie of the Year honors.

Earlier in the week, Doncic explained to EuroHoops.net that his award-winning time in Europe prepared him to thrive as a scorer in the NBA.

“Here [in the NBA] its easier to score compared to Europe, of course. In Europe, the court is smaller and here there is the three seconds rule. I think it’s easier to score here.”

The Mavericks enter Sunday’s contest winners of two of their last three games. Doncic is averaging 20.6 points per game this season—placing him comfortably in front of fellow youngsters Trae Young (16.9) and Deandre Ayton (16.5).
