Portland Trail Blazers forward Zach Collins is no longer wearing a sling for his injured shoulder and his recovery is progressing, according to Jamie Hudson of NBCSportsNorthwest. Collins had surgery on his shoulder one month ago after injuring it in the third game of the season versus the Dallas Mavericks.
Hudson’s summary does not cite any change to Collins’ prognosis. He is still expected to miss a substantial portion of the season. Hudson quotes Collins on shedding the sling protecting his injury:
It’s a lot more convenient, and way more comfortable not walking around with a sling all the time. I’m very happy. --Trail Blazers big man Zach Collins

“The timeline is moving along and it’s progressing,” Collins added.
The article also describes Collins’ sensation of pain surrounding the injury and the rehab work he’s putting in to recover.
