The Blazers are back in the ‘W’ column, after putting away the Kings 127-116at the Moda Center Wednesday night. Portland is at 9-13, and gained ground on most of the lower half of the Western Conference in their fight to get back into the upper half.

Box Score

CJ McCollum brought the heat. With some early struggles from Lillard, McCollum kept the team afloat, scoring 33, until...

Lillard put it away late. Another night of Damian tossing in long three’s over the outstretched arms of defenders. He went 4-6 from three for 24 points.

Rough night for the soph. Anferee Simons has slowed down after his hot start, but the Kings probably didn’t recognize him as the player that torched them two previous times. He struggled at both ends of the court, then he fouled out in 13 minutes with 3 points.

Whiteside with the dishes. He tallied 7 assists to go with his usual double-figures in scoring and rebounding. Maybe there’s a triple-double in his future.

Bazemore for three! Kent came alive, hitting three 3-pointers to help the Blazers in key moments. He scored 15.

Don’t forget Carmelo. He hit 50% of his shots for 20 points, in a good bounce-back performance after a rough night in LA.

The Blazers get a day off, and prep for the arrival of Carmelo’s old friend, LeBron James, and his Los Angeles Lakers.
