Terry Stotts: Pau Gasol Officially Joining Trail Blazers’ Coaching Staff

Portland Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts told reporters Tuesday night that veteran Pau Gasol is joining the team’s coaching staff after he returns from Spain. Gasol, 39, was waived on Nov. 20 by the Blazers in order to focus more on recovering from foot surgery he had last May.

At the time of his waiving, there were hints that Gasol would join the team in a coaching role, which has now been confirmed.

Gasol has 18 years of NBA experience under his belt, earning six All-Star nods and winning two championships with the Los Angeles Lakers.
